Elizabeth’s Bio

German-American Mezzo-Soprano Elizabeth Neumeyer is a transcendent young artist whose unique instrument, and passion for storytelling has been featured in performances throughout the United States. Hailing from Long Island, New York, Neumeyer made her operatic debut at the age of eighteen singing the role of Dritte Dame in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Since then, she has sung the roles of Bradamante in Händel’s Alcina, La Badessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, and  most recently Baba in Menotti’s The Medium. In addition to her operatic endeavors, Neumeyer has a lengthy background in musical theatre, most recently portraying the roles of Nettie Fowler in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel, and Morgan Le Fay in Lerner & Lowe’s Camelot

During the summer of 2025, Neumeyer performed as a young artist at the Janiec Opera Company at Brevard Music Center, where she covered the roles of Armeline in Viardot’s Cendrillon, and Third Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Due to illness in the company, Neumeyer performed the role of Third Lady throughout the production’s tech week. She also had the opportunity to perform alongside the United States Air Force Singing Sergeants in Brevard Music Center’s Pendergrast Family Patriotic Pops Concert. Neumeyer is thrilled to be returning to the Janiec Opera Company in summer 2026, where she will sing Little Buttercup in Gilbert & Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore and will cover Marcellina in Mozart’s Le Nozze Di Figaro.

Besides her staged production experience, Neumeyer has won various awards such as the California Capitol Chapter NATS Voice Competition, Opera Modesto Kristina Townsend Memorial Competition, and most recently placing as a national finalist at the Schmidt Vocal Arts upper division undergraduate competition. 

In addition to the awards she has received, Neumeyer has worked with many industry professionals in masterclasses such as Joyce DiDonato, Daniela Mack, Lyubov Petrova, John De Haan, Louis Burkot,  and Ken Benson, to name a few.

Now based on the West Coast, Neumeyer is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Music at the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music, where she is a third year student of Tenor Daniel Ebbers. She additionally receives secondary lessons from Soprano Christine Goerke, and has previously studied with Sopranos Dr. Sherry Overholt and Jennifer Grimaldi Toohey.
